WebJan 5, 2010 · It had lots of miles on it. When you first started it or, after long periods of idleing it would smoke blue smoke for a short while. The truck used very little oil. One and A half gallons of oil use between 15,000 mile services. Throttle it up to 1000rpms while idleing. It seemed to help some.

This ONLY happens after a long coast say going down a grade and then hitting the accelerator. Very intermittent. No correlation with Jake brake being on or off. Engine has 50,000 miles on it.
