In a perfect world, you'd want your framerate and refresh rate to be on a 1 to 1 ratio e.g. 60Hz/60fps 100Hz/100fps (hence G-Sync and Freesync which adjust the monitors refresh rate), but that's beyond the scope of your question. Try doing some research around the web. Web4K is out of my league, but I don't want to stick with a grainy 1080p monitor, so that leaves me looking at 1440p. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I do enjoy FPSs, so a higher framerate would be nice. 100hz might be the sweet spot since I'm not sure my GTX 950 will be able to push out more frames than that.
